Good nutrition is not just about living, it’s about thriving.
Swell Health is not about putting you on another quick-fix, wholesale diet. Instead, it’s all about figuring out a sustainable, enjoyable way of eating that helps you meet your health and performance goals. Everyone’s nutrition needs are entirely unique, and we tap into this by taking a truly tailored approach to food and lifestyle. We’ll work closely together to create a bespoke approach that fits comfortably with your life and lets you make long-lasting changes.
My areas of special interest are:
nutrition for sports performance
nutrition for teenagers and young people
nutrition to support skin health
nutrition to support mental health
… though I am very happy to speak to you about any other concerns.
What is nutritional therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science to a holistic picture of a person’s health.
It’s underpinned by the belief that nutrition is a powerful tool for rebalancing the status quo, and focuses on adjusting nutrient quantity, quality, and methods of intake to support optimal health and peak performance.
Nutritional Therapists take a bespoke approach to providing nutrition recommendations, understanding that every person has a completely unique set of needs. They seek to figure out what’s causing the issue rather than simply managing symptoms, and suggest nutrition strategies to help support the body’s systems in returning to optimal function.
Despite taking a ‘food first’ approach, Nutritional Therapists are mindful of how lifestyle and environmental factors impact the health of an individual. This ultimately leads to the development of a well-rounded, evidence-informed and effective nutrition approach tailored specifically to you.
Let’s work together.

Step 1: Discover
Before our first appointment, you will be asked to complete a brief health questionnaire and 7-day food diary. This will give me a little more detail on what you would like us to focus on and a snapshot of your nutritional starting point.
Step 2: Discuss
Our initial appointment will last for around 90 minutes.
In this time we will discuss:
Your current health challenges
Future health / performance goals
Any symptoms you have
Past and present treatments
Personal health history
Family health history
Deep dive into your current nutrition and lifestyle habits
It sounds in-depth, and it is... for good reason! This broad, detailed picture will give me the launchpad to get started on developing an effective nutrition approach designed specifically for your needs.
Step 3: Develop
You will leave our initial consultation with a personalised ‘Quick Wins’ cheat sheet for you to action straight away.
A full nutrition approach, including any relevant lifestyle recommendations, will be emailed to you within a a few days of our initial meeting. We will arrange a short meeting or phone conversation at this point, to make sure that you’re clear and comfortable with all the recommendations, as well as the rationale behind them.
I strongly believe that understanding exactly why you have been recommended a particular strategy will help you to feel confident in building it into your daily routine.
With you all the way.
Working together for a minimum of 4 months will provide enough time for us to closely monitor the impact of your personal nutrition approach. We’ll start slowly, focussing on a few key nutritional recommendations at a time, and adding in extra pieces to the puzzle when you feel ready.
Every 2 weeks, we’ll have a mini check-in to touch base, with a full check-in consultation every 4 weeks. Our full check-in consultations will typically be 45 minutes of feedback, progress monitoring and further tweaks to your plan to ensure you’re always progressing towards your goals.
Alongside our mini check-ins every 2 weeks and full check-ins every 4 weeks, I will be on hand to support you through email and WhatsApp (please allow 24 hours for me to get back to you!).
As a nutrition professional, I advocate for Nutritional Therapy’s place as a complementary tool alongside traditional approaches to health management. This means that I will always strive to be in communication and collaboration with any other health care professionals that you may be working with.

“12 months on, I still eat by Lucy’s recommendations every day and feel so much better for it. Lucy created an easy to digest and bespoke nutritional guide for me to follow, as well as explaining the reasons behind each recommendation to help me to understand for myself. I would highly recommend Lucy’s expertise to anyone, at any level in their journey.”
